What the project includes
The plan includes 15 grade-separated structures: seven bridges spanning 2.3km in total and eight tunnels covering 900 metres. Latifa bint Hamdan Street will be widened to four lanes in each direction, raising capacity to around 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions. The project also includes 12.5km of cycling tracks connecting the existing network between Al Qudra and Jumeirah.

The most immediate benefit for motorists concerns the stretch between Umm Al Sheif Street and Emirates Road, where travel time will drop from 33 to 15 minutes, a 54% cut. The RTA also expects a 12% increase in east-west road network capacity, with benefits extending to Al Khail Road, Dubai-Al Ain Road, Umm Suqeim Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
